I-C Cold is a trademark name for a round plastic disc that changes color based on temperature. The disc is 5" in diameter and 1/2" thick and has been treated with special UV protection. The discs have a thermo chromatic dye within the cast that is programmed to turn the disc from neutral white to orange at 1 degree Celsius. The discs are placed in sidewalks, driveways, and city streets to warn people that the surface is about to freeze and ice can form.
